When Kindness Comes With an Agenda
Kindness used as bait is not kindness.
It’s seduction disguised as salvation. Wrapped in politeness, delivered with the quiet assumption that you are broken, sinful, and in need of correction, this is the archetype of the spiritual door-to-door salesman.
Conditioned kindness can become bait, and seduction is often disguised as salvation. Who is truly trying to place a spell on you?
There is a particular kind of kindness that feels sweet at first contact. It arrives wrapped in politeness, smiles, and carefully chosen words. For a brief moment, it can feel like warmth. Like welcome.
That’s what I felt yesterday, for a moment. Something was hiding and I felt it as I found myself mirroring fake niceness. It’s been well rehearsed as politeness. But then something shifted, not in my mind, but in my body. The energy changed. The warmth carried a weight. The kindness came with a quiet assumption that began to reveal itself without words - you are a sinner, and I have something you need.
Kindness laced with intentional seduction and manipulation, wrapped in pretty bows, is an old archetype. It’s the spiritual door-to-door salesman. Seduction masked as sweetness and sincerity and to be honest, most have no idea of the conditioning. Arriving at your threshold, physically, emotionally, mentally and with the words “I just want to welcome you,” while selling you the “approved” pathway to Jesus.
Here’s the thing, most people using this approach have no idea they’re doing it. This is simply the way they were taught. But whose way? Whose beliefs? Whose unexamined doctrine passed down so seamlessly it no longer feels like persuasion, it feels like love.
This girl has been hanging with evolving Jesus (2000.0) and true archetypal of acceptance long enough to know he doesn’t need to be sold like a vacuum cleaner. He doesn’t need a foot wedged in the doorway, a handshake that crosses energetic thresholds without consent, or a welcome basket hiding a conversion clause.
Light, Christ consciousness, and divinity is not outside the door waiting to get in. It lives within just as our freedom and freewill does. Propaganda sprinkled with sweetened shame doesn’t open your heart, its judgement.
A genuine welcome is simple. “Hey, welcome to the neighbourhood. We live over there. This is our church. If you need anything, let me know. Here is a few things I made, enjoy!” Leave out the propaganda, faith doesn’t need to be sold…
That’s it. Transparent. Human. No hook. No agenda. No silent assessment of your soul. That is simple welcome without a disguised agenda.
But kindness sugar-coated in judgment leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Especially when it carries the unspoken belief that I, or anyone else — am broken, bad, or in need of saving. The homemade jam, the well-packaged card tucked inside, carefully worded to spellbind you into a belief system that requires your unworthiness in order to work. That isn’t love. That’s propaganda. Seduction dressed as grace.
And the irony is this … Jesus never worked that way.
Truth doesn’t knock uninvited. Love doesn’t recruit. Spirit doesn’t assume authority over your inner world. Consent matters: energetically, emotionally, spiritually; Upfront Honesty!
This year we are moving beyond politeness into discernment. Beyond inherited belief into embodied truth. Beyond being impressed by presentation into listening to what the body already knows. You don’t need saving. You need remembering. And no one gets to sell you God at your own door. You have your own mind, and in your own time, and through your own experiences added with a little guidance, you will find your way…
