Make space for the child
My office has gained a new life and my heart has a new appreciation for my own paintings. As my office has become like that of a fairy 🧚♀️ garden built and put together from the inspiration and awe of two little children who love me and my work, simply from the place that I am that special to them.
The yellow chair that now sits at the window was the piece that replaced my big bold red couch that became my why and inspiration for a big move a few years ago. Placed in a much smaller space that says sit here and don’t run. Pause, sit with the power of a fire that glows, a fire that takes away the sad. A fire that is the magical healer of the sky, the sun.
Here now in this space I do not fit in the bed, but I fit in the world that’s mine to exist. As I took weeks to bring this space together nothing was working. Nothing made sense. I was trying too hard to make it something it was not. Just like that of a fairy’s room. They take this and that and make it fit for them and not with a concern about what anyone else may think.
I have a statement that makes my heart smile every time I look at my paintings. “Corrie the world is not ready for you!” And “People just don’t understand you!” I am ready for me, children can and should always fit in your space, including the divine child within yourself.
How do you find that divine child? How do you nurture the essence of the wounded child story? Make space for the child waiting to be understood so long ago, tell her/him you believe them, believe in them, that you see the fairies, the dragons and imaginary friends.
Help her grow and cultivate the weird. Remember you are speaking to a you that you once had been. Encourage the artist, the singer, and all that comes from the creative mind. Let the little witch out as she is not bad, evil, or sly. She is magical and curious. She may have simply asked why too many times and seen clearly that what she was told to accept never did make sense or fit right with her heart. Let her get it all out even if it doesn’t make sense, then set her free with a forgiveness for forgetting that she was simply a child and that there should have always been space for the beautiful child to feel safe.
Love her and watch the divine child appear as a guardian of the woman/ man you are today.

The way home to you starts with knowing who you are not. It’s recognizing we all have a history and a past. We all play many characters in our own stories. Releasing the past, making peace with what was, and discovering the treasures within is part of the journey. The energetic connection to the past may be holding you further away from your now!
