The Power of the Unpolished

So much of life teaches us to smooth ourselves out, to fit into identities and systems that look good - but silence what’s real. The unseen parts. The forgotten parts. The parts we hide because they don’t fit the role we were given.
When a stone is polished to perfection, redesigned by human hands to be more desirable, it becomes a symbol of what we’ve been taught to value: refinement over truth, presentation over presence, perfection over lived experience. This same impulse shows up in our lives—creating systems, identities, and roles that look good from the outside but quietly erase the realness of the everyday.
The unseen.
The forgotten.
The parts of ourselves we’ve learned to hide because they don’t fit the image we were told to exist within.
I am no longer here for recognition. And my goal is no longer to be on the Oprah Winfrey Show, or to make it to HayHouse, though I’d accept the invitation with gratitude and appreciation. For too many years I felt disappointment in every rejection letter I received back until I remembered my big “Why.” I remembered where my heart has always aligned - The everyday woman.
I am here for those who for too long felt either alone, or felt shamed out of truly living their truth. Those who exhausted themselves to be enough.
This work is not rebellion.
It is recovery.
It is acceptance.
It is shared love.
I don’t look over my shoulder to see who is watching, or who is approving. I don’t perform for validation or wait for permission. I simply keep walking, while tending to my rough edges, not to erase them, but to ensure they do not wound. Because those edges are not flaws. They are evidence. Evidence of a life lived in the rawness. In the realness. In the truth of experience rather than the illusion of perfection.
