To the little one you used to be!
The world will try in so many ways to take your magic away. Many will make wishes for you and place their thoughts in your head, but you are the wise one. You may not know how to express it yet, but you still hear the whispers and see the world beyond.
You have a wild and crazy side that doesn’t need to be tamed. You will discover how to harness that energy. You are not bad, you have power that moves you. You have an an imagination that inspires you. That ability to express your anger will serve you well someday. You don’t have to suck it up or lower your voice.
Let me remind you, you’re not responsible for the adult’s duties. You have the mind of a child and not the mind of an adult so don’t grow up too fast! It’s up to the adult to help you navigate this world and your emotions and not yours to be a responsible 30 year old when you are 3! Your parents will not get it all right but they have no right to take their stresses out on you.
Wear your shoes on the wrong feet so that you learn that you don’t have to walk the same path as everyone else. Most of all, you are discovering it’s safe to be uncomfortable in your company, but trust your feet and your body when you turn away from what doesn’t feel right.
No, you don’t have to like everyone and no, not everyone deserves your hugs or love. There is a whole lotta you that’s so true that goes all the way to the soul so don’t let the world take it away. Their job is to help you to nurture and grow those beautiful imperfect qualities. You are just learning and trust me the adults still have much to learn, so be kind to yourself!
You are a child and your world is magical and the future belongs to you as you! You do not need to be busy with schedules and activities, the power of pauses and simply playing will teach you peace and not how to compete. You are dearly loved, so please don’t chase love, chase butterflies and ladybugs. I promise you this way you will live in awe and joy and happiness will be always with you. The unmet dreams of your parents will never be yours to fulfill!
Dull your light for no one. This is your light so let it shine!
