The “Hungry Ghost”
In Buddhist psychology, the “hungry ghost” represents a state of consciousness driven by insatiable craving.
No matter how much it consumes the attention, validation, power, approval, certainty, it is never enough there is still a starving for more. The hunger is not physical. It is psychological and it’s spiritual.
More Than Existing was born from a state of clarity that I myself had to wait to mature through my mind, body and spirit. There are many subjects to touch on, but for today I will only touch this one with my perspectives that is closest to the light.
There is something happening in the spiritual world right now. You can feel it, and if I can give some language to a piece of it and not all of it, it is like a reckoning around projection. When we make humans into gods, when we idolize without discernment, we will eventually feel betrayed by their humanity. Not because they changed, but because we imagined them as something they were never meant to be. We become personally invested in a self created belief.

The hunger is not physical, it is psychological and spiritual.
That hungry ghost lives in the one who seeks fame but it also lives in the one who seeks to be saved, to be validated. It feeds on admiration and on belonging. It feeds on superiority and on certainty. And when the illusion breaks, that same hunger can turn into outrage.
You may feel you were lied to. But sometimes what shatters is not truth… It is illusion. The truth was always there. We are conditioned to fall in love with characters. We watch actors embody roles and emotionally attach to who we believe they are, and then we are shocked to discover the character was never the person.
Disillusionment is painful, but often it is not betrayal, it is the collapse of projection.
Spiritual maturity is not worship - it is discernment. Teachers are human. People are human. Influence amplifies what is unresolved. Power magnifies shadow, it does not erase it. The real work is not exposing someone else’s fall. The real work is reclaiming your projection. If you need someone to be flawless in order to feel safe, you have not yet reclaimed your own inner authority.
More Than Existing means we stop performing devotion and start practicing discernment. Being the best human we can be is the objective and remember, just because there are grownups in a room doesn’t mean there is a mature, emotionally intelligent adult present.
The world is full of beautiful people doing beautiful work. Don’t let the ugliness stop you from showing up and believing. No creating of gods and no becoming gurus. Just humans responsible for their shadow.
